The Woodland Homemakers Extension met recently at the home of Dodie Olmstead for a regular monthly meeting. Following the group reading of the Homemaker’s Creed, co-president Theresa Andrews conducted the business meeting. During the session, it was noted that fruit baskets had been delivered to members who were ill and a donation had been made to the Homeless Shelter in Presque Isle. Members received their new books and it was announced that Easton, Mapleton and Spragueville would be hosting the May Tea this year. In further discussion, it was determined that no members from the Woodland group will be attending the April 18-19, Spring Meeting in Augusta.
The next meeting will be a potluck meal held April 15, at Heritage View in New Sweden.
Members present included, Elizabeth Cochran, Theresa Andrews, Elizabeth Beaulieu, Janet Ketch, Dodie Olmstead, and new extension member Sandra Pickens.
In a previous meeting of the Woodland Extension on Feb.19, the group met for lunch at Pizza Hut, then toured the Caribou Pet Rescue site. Norma Milton spoke to the members who had also brought many needed items to donate to the shelter. During the visit, the members had a chance to see many cats and dogs ready for adoption at the shelter.
Members participating in the Caribou Pet Rescue tour were Elizabeth Cochran, Theresa Andrews, Arline St. Peter, Margaret Hersey, Dodie Olmstead and guest Sandra Pickens.
