Support made difference

To the editor:
Tragedy struck our family on April 16, 2008. My father Ron had a major stroke. The outpouring of love and support from our friends, family and community has been overwhelming. It means more to us than words could possibly express.     We would like to thank the Caribou Fire & Ambulance, especially Danny who not only was compassionate but offered to help us get the dog that had gotten loose during this ordeal! We would like to thank everyone at Cary Medical Center, especially Troy Plante andDr. Gleason. Troy is not only a caring nurse but he is also a caring and compassionate person who answered our questions and calmed our fears. We would like to thank the two drivers from the Valley Ambulance Service, who was the only ambulance service available at the time to transport dad to EMMC in Bangor. It was dark and there were a lot of deer and when they arrived they were so friendly and didn’t complain once!
We would like to thank Father Jean-Paul and Father Dave who have given us and Dad the spiritual guidance that we all so need. I swear that they must sleep in their clothes they get to the hospital so fast! We also would like to thank our Holy Rosary “family” — I am sorry that I cannot remember all of your names, but your cards, prayers, money and phone calls have meant so much to us and most of all to dad.
We would like to thank everyone at Senator Snowe’s staff, especially Sharon. They all have helped us not only financially but also mentally and spiritually. We would like to thank the support of all of the employees at the Battered Women’s Project as well. We would like to thank our neighbors and friends Jimmy and Carol Moore who have helped us with the dog and they are also helping to take care of my son, we don’t know what we would do without them! I’d also like to thank Hope, Don and Taylor. When I asked them to watch my son at the last minute they gladly did it without hesitation and have continued to ask how they may help.
If I have forgotten anyone, I apologize as there have been so many wonderful people who have helped us in so many ways. There is a saying that your truly don’t know who your friends are until there is a tragedy and this couldn’t be more true. Our family has so much to be thankful for, we are truly blessed!
