Last chance to enter softball tourney
The deadline to enter the fourth annual Beat the Heat men’s softball tournament is this weekend, June 7-8. The tournament will benefit the Houlton Softball Association. Each team is guaranteed three games. There will also be a home run contest and concessions available.

Aroostook United Soccer Club
The Aroostook United Soccer Club boys’ U10 travel team will hold open tryouts on June 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Presque Isle High School track located behind the school. Tryouts are open to anyone born between Aug. 1, 1998 and July 31, 2000 in Aroostook County.

Biking events
Mojo’s will host a women’s ride and repair clinic on Monday, June 9. The ride will begin at 5:30 p.m. from Mojo’s with a basic maintenance clinic to follow from 7 to 9 p.m. This is a ride for all ability levels. The fee is $5 with snacks and drinks provided. A bike maintenance clinic will take place on Wednesday, June 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mojo’s. The class is for anyone wishing to learn a few tips to keep their bike in great working order. The fee is $5. Call Melanie at 760-9500 to reserve a spot.
A Presque Isle time trial (Maine TT #8) will take place on Saturday, July 19 beginning at 1 p.m. on the Parsons Road. The 14-mile road race/ride is part of the Maine Time Trial series. The registration fee is $20 or $15 is preregistered by emailing info@melsmojo.com or calling Melanie at 760-9500.
The Spudcycle Classic will take place on Sunday, July 20 as part of the Potato Blossom Festival events.
Registration opens at the Fort Fairfield Recreation Department at 8:30 a.m. with the kids’ event at 9 a.m. and the adult ride at 10 a.m. The route is 26-miles.

Several group rides will be held weekly by Mojo’s and the Nordic Heritage Center. Helmets are required. Mondays: women’s no drop road ride for all abilities beginning at 5:30 p.m. from Mojo’s. Mondays: moderate to fast-paced mountain bike ride beginning at 6 p.m. at the Nordic Heritage Center. Tuesdays: all abilities no drop mountain bike ride beginning at 6 p.m. at the Nordic Heritage Center. Wednesdays: moderate to fast-paced mountain bike ride beginning at 6 p.m. at the Nordic Heritage Center. Saturdays: all abilities no drop road ride beginning at 8 a.m. from Mojo’s.
Weekly spinski group rides will be held in Caribou and Presque Isle. Helmets are required. Tuesdays: moderate to fast-paced beginning at 5:30 p.m. from S.W. Collins in Caribou. Thursdays: moderate to fast-paced beginning at 5:30 p.m. from Mojo’s in Presque Isle.
Aroostook River paddle nights will be held weekly from Washburn to Presque Isle on Wednesday nights at 5:30 p.m. Paddlers will meet at Perception of Aroostook, 9 Caribou Road, Presque Isle for a two to three hour casual paddle. A kayak shuttle is available for $10, and rentals for $30.
