CALAIS – Matt Enman (Limestone) threw for the pitching win in the Aroostook County Patriot’s first victory in the 2008 American Legion baseball season.

The Patriots shot out 12 runs in the second inning to defeat Calais in the second game of the Saturday doubleheader.
Brennen Shaw (Presque Isle) doubled, singled and hit two RBIs while Pat Thibodeau (Caribou) tripled and cranked out three RBIs. Enman also plowed a homer for two runs, and Josh Harvey (Houlton) added two singles, a double and two RBIs.
Calais just took the first game with a grand slam late in the game. Thibodeau went four-for-four at bat for the Patriots with two RBIs. Ted Walker (Caribou) and Joe Soucy (Fort Kent) both hit solo home runs, and Shaw singled twice.
The Patriots traveled to Bangor on Sunday for a nine inning competition with Motor City.
Motor City guarded their home turf, 7-3. Kasey Brewer (Mars Hill) hit an RBI and drew a bases-loaded walk for the Patriots. Soucy singled twice, Matt Chasse (Presque Isle) doubled and Logan McLaughlin (Mars Hill) singled.
The Patriots opened the season on their home field last Thursday against Bangor. Bangor picked up the win, 8-2.
