STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn., and WILDWOOD, Fla. John W. “Jack” Cote, 75, of Leonard Road, Stafford Springs, Conn., passed away Monday, June 9, 2008, surrounded by his loving family, at his home. He was born in Caswell, son of the late Louis and Idella (Walton) Cote. John was raised and attended schools in Caribou.
John was employed by Peterson Roofing Co., Roofers Local No. 9, for more than 35 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, vintage cars and trucks, wintering in Florida, and was an avid John Deere collector.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Doris (Castonguay) Cote of Stafford Springs, Conn.; his five children, Brian Cote and his wife, Patricia, of Littleton, Donna Brothers and her friend, Tim Phillips, Kathy Rose and her husband, Roger, Nancy Flannery and her husband, Donald, and Michelle Petty and her husband, Dale, all of Stafford Springs, Conn.; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Doody of Caribou and Betty Robertson of Murray, Ky.; two brothers, Freeman Cote of Caribou and Louis Cote of Monson, Mass.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Lucy Bouchard, Gertrude Oliver, Jeannie Cunningham and Ella Harris; four brothers, Raymond, Irving, Preston and Jasper; and a grandson, Chad Brothers.
His funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, Conn. Burial was held at Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, Conn. Calling hours were 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
