Heading into the final games Key Bank reigns at 10-1

    Savings Bank of Maine 17, Woodland Eagles 8

   Brayden Burby struck out eight of 10 batters, and Nick Matlock struck out three to help give Savings Bank the defensive edge last Friday. Evan Nadeau took over pitching in the fifth inning when catcher Dylan Coty chased down a ball to get to Matlock who tagged a runner out trying to steal home. Caleb Willett ended the game with bases loaded, striking out Matt Milliard.
    Matlock went five-for-five including a home run, two doubles and two singles. B. Burby hit two doubles, and Jacob Burby and Willett had two singles each. Tyler Raymond and Jared Doody both added a single. Dylan Coty hit two RBIs.
    Milliard led the Eagles’ offense with a triple and one double while Jared Fox and Brendan Whitmore both added a single.
    S.W. Collins 1, Shop n’ Save 0
    Both teams remained scoreless into the seventh inning of Little League action last Friday. In the bottom of the inning, Donovan Savage found his pitch for a hit into rightfield that helped Gabe Massey score the winning run. Donovan Savage had two hits, and Dayne Savage had one hit. Matt Curry struck out 18 batters in the contest.
    Jared Keaton struck out 13 batters, and Alex Losienicki struck out three for SNS. Kameron Manter had one hit.
    Key Bank 11, Sleepers 5
    Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Key Bank exploded for nine runs to improve their season record to 10-1 last Friday. Kaleb Corriveau and Matt Frost combined to strike out 13 batters. M. Frost and Dustin Bouchard both had two hits, and Alex Scott doubled with bases loaded in the fifth inning for Key Bank.
    Breen Blackstone struck out eight and allowed only two hits over four innings.
    Shop n’ Save 8, Sleepers 7
    Shop n’ Save tied Sleepers in the bottom of the sixth inning last Wednesday, and scored one run in the bottom of the eighth for the Little League win over Sleepers.
    Sleepers started the game off strong in the top of the first inning with three runs. After a lead-off walk to Justin Ouellette, Michael Hunter singled and Blackstone doubled to drive in both runners. A single by Adam Collins helped Michael Marquis home for the first SNS run. Sleepers moved to five points in the second inning when Hunter and Blackstone both singled to drive in runs, and again singled to bring the lead to 7-1 in the top of the fourth.
    SNS fought back in the bottom of the fourth with four runs when Marquis singled and Losieniecki doubled. A tie was reached in the sixth Marquis doubled and was driven in by a Losieniecki double. Collins singled to bring in Losieniecki. The game was won by back-to-back doubles from Losieniecki and Collins.
    Manter picked up the pitching win with 12 strikeouts.
    Savings Bank of Maine 13, Knights of Columbus 5
    An eight-run fifth inning pushed Savings Bank to the victory over K of C on June 24. Savings Bank offense was led by Matlock with two doubles and two singles. J. Burby also doubled while B. Burby singled twice. Dylan Coty, Willett and Nadeau all had one hit each. Dylan Coty and Matlock teamed up for Savings Bank defense two tag out two runners attempting to steal home.
    K of C player Jesse Page tripled and singled while teammate Devin Martin and Taylor Thibodeau both singled. Catcher Connor Plourde made the first out of the pivotal fifth inning for the Knights’ effort.
    Key Bank 6, Woodland Eagles 1
    Four Key Bank pitchers combined to strike out nine batters in their win over the Eagles on June 23. Nolan McDuffie and M. Frost both had two hits while Corriveau, Nick Frost, Ryan Washington and Scott McCrossin all had one hit.
    Milliard struck out 10 batters for the Eagles, and hit a deep fly ball in the first inning.
    Key Bank 10, S.W. Collins 2
    Corriveau hit a three-run homer in the second inning to highlight Key Bank’s victory on June 19. McDuffie earned the pitching win with five strikeouts, and M. Frost struck out all seven of his batters to end the game. Corriveau and M. Frost both notched two hits, and McDuffie, Washington and McCrossin all had one hit.
    Donovan Savage belted two hits while Matt Curry singled for S.W. Collins.
    Key Bank 18, VFW 2
    Corriveau struck out nine and allowed only one hit over three innings to earn the win for Key Bank of June 18. Bouchard pitched in relief striking out five batters. M. Frost paced Key Bank’s offense with four hits, and McDuffie and Corriveau both slammed two hits. Nick Pelletier notched his first Little League hit with a sharp single to centerfield in the sixth inning.
    Sean Sadler and Cory Rideout combined for 13 strikeouts for VFW. Sadler also tallied two singles.
    North Stars 14, VFW 6
    Elliott Landeen, Jacob Bither, Kelsie Esling, Jordyn Doucette and Garrick Alley all put in two hits toward the North Stars’ win over VFW. Doucette and Shane Landeen combined for 15 strikeouts on the mound.
    Jake Perreault, Dylan Berkoski and Sean Sadler led VFW offense with two hits each.
