To the editor:
We are anxiously waiting for the Arts and Crafts Fair this next weekend! Our hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at Caribou High School. We have several things this year which we hope will help celebrate this 35th anniversary including: • A “cash cube” (open to anyone): without cost to have their name drawn – we’re planning on drawing two “winners” every 10 minutes throughout the two days which will include “Arts and Crafts Fair Bucks” which may be redeemed at any one of our crafters over the weekend!
• We are selling anniversary T-shirts this year! Stop by our office, or our booth during the weekend to purchase yours!
• All our crafters’ door prizes will be items available to win in the cash cube this year. Every year each crafter generously donates at least one door prize, and you know how it is: “everyone likes to win something!”
• We will again do a 50/50 raffle for the public/crafters as we did last year — half the funds will go to a crafter and half to the winning general entry.
• Our 150th Anniversary Committee is going to be having a booth, displaying the commemorative Caribou Holub prints, as well as calendars and other items! They will even be selling Aroostook County potatoes at Caribou Rotary’s Concession Stand (thank you Caribou Rotary for all your help!)
• Finally, we plan to have a “live broadcast” Saturday for three hours with one of the local broadcasters, as well, in honor of this special year; and perhaps a few small surprises to honor some of our long-term crafters! We have “socked away” a bit of funds this year to celebrate the promotion of the event (so keep your eyes/ears open – and let us know if you’ve heard/seen anything – we’re anxious to find out if “the word is out” – this is the year not to miss!
We have quite a waiting list this last month, and for those folks who are waiting for a chance to be a part of the 2009 show, call or stop in our offices on November 7th – that’s when the spaces “open” for the general public for 2009 (until then, all 2008 crafters still have a chance to sign up for next year.
We can’t wait to see you this weekend! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 498-6156 or 1-800-722-7648. Thank you for your continued support.
