The Northern Maine Community College Falcons won a playoff game for the first time in coach Robbie Krul’s four-year tenure. The Falcons downed Vermont Technical College Tuesday, 3-1, behind goals from Justin Lyshon, Luke Ireland and Craig Hamman.
Ireland also picked up an assist on Hannan’s goal. Goalkeeper Sam Petrie had six saves.
The Falcons move on to the Yankee Small College Conference championship, to be played Saturday. They will take on the today’s winner of No. 1 Central Maine Community College and No. 4 New Hampshire Technical Institute.
