“Stephanie recently won the Aroostook Right to Read Bookmark Contest and her entry will be published and given to students in grades 3-5 throughout Aroostook County next fall during Reading Awareness Week,” said her teachers. “She is a highest honor roll student and is very conscientious about every task she pursues. Stephanie is a pleasure to know.”
The fifth-grader is also a student representative for her room and plays percussion in the CMS Band.
Chelsea Chapman, a student of grade five teachers, Mr. Travis Barnes, Mrs. Jola Hebert and Mrs. Kim Barnes, is the November Student of the Month for the Sur-five-ors Team.
“Chelsea is a diligent worker who is always prepared for class with exemplary homework,” said her teachers, “she is kind to her peers and is always willing to help others. Chelsea sets high expectations for herself and earned highest honors for the first quarter. She is a humble student who quietly does great things every day.”
Katie Pelletier a sixth-grade student from the “Six-ceeders” Team, was selected Student of the Month for November by her teachers, Mrs. Cathy Bouchard, Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mr. John Pelletier.
“Katie is a highest honors student,” said her teachers, “she strives to do her best in all academic areas. She plays the clarinet in the CMS Band and also takes piano lessons. Katie participated on the cross-country team this past fall and is a first-year member of the CMS Civil Rights Team, and recently has been asked to participate on the school’s math team.”
Her teachers also noted, “Katie is a very hardworking and responsible, she is a true classroom leader.”
Noah Cavender is the sixth-grade WOWS team November Student of the Month.
CMS teachers, Mrs. Deede Duncan and Mrs. Donna Holmes stated, “ Even though he is quiet, he is dynamite. In Noah’s quiet, gentle way, he finds his voice in his outstanding writing and high grades from all academics. He is a force to be reckoned with in the hockey arena, which he has played for three years. “Noah’s favorite genre in reading is fiction and he has completed Gary Paulsen’s “Tucket” series in 10 weeks. He enjoys being around his friends and in his spare time from hockey, he plays basketball too. All in all he gives an entire new meaning to respect, hard work and success in the school ‘arena,’” added his teachers.
Rebecca Gagne is the November Student of the Month for the grade-seven STAR Team. Her teachers, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt and Mr. Roger Thompson said they see Rebecca as a cooperative student who teaches out to her many friends and classmates. “It is fitting to note,” they said, “that as part of the criteria for receiving this award that Rebecca is always willing to offer a helping hand to her teachers and to her fellow classmates. She also willingly accepts her responsibilities and commitments to each of them. Rebecca not only gets along well with others, she also demonstrates a model student for others to see as she works in the classroom, keeping on task and showing concern about doing well in her work.”
“Rebecca is happiest when she is talking and being around with her friends and playing sports,” continued her teachers, “One of her happiest memories is her Christian summer youth camp that she attended in Bridgewater. She also enjoys going to her church youth group each week at the Assembly of God Church here in Caribou .” The two seventh-grade teachers also said, “It is surely no surprise that she was chosen Student of the Month for November as Rebecca is definitely deserving of the special award by being such an exemplary student, both academically and socially.”
Matt Curry is the November Student of the Month for the SWAT Team. CMS teachers, Ms. Shelly Richardson, Mrs. Mary Curtis and Mrs. Steve Perreault said, “Matt is an excellent student who maintains high honor roll status. He puts a great deal of effort and pride into his schoolwork and we appreciate his positive attitude and willingness to lend a helping hand.”
“Matt has excellent manners and is pleasant and kind to all he meets,” continued his teachers. “He is an active member of the Caribou Middle School community, participating in both basketball and baseball. Anyone who meets Matt in the school hallways will receive a smile and a kind word.”
Sameer Panesar has been selected by grade-eight teachers; Mrs. Courtney Boma, Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mr. Ralph Fantasia, as Student of the Month for November.
The CMS staff members stated, “Sameer conducts himself, on a daily basis, with class and always demonstrates respect to his classmates and the staff. He is a model student who is never satisfied and who is always trying to improve. He is an excellent leader and is always available to lend a helping hand to his classmates.”
“Sameer,” continued his teachers, “is an active members of the Leadership Team and he demonstrated those leadership qualities when he was an integral part of the mock election that was held at the school. He is also a member of the eighth-grade book club and plans on once again to be a member of the cross-country team.”
Alexa Massey was named November’s Student of the Month by CMS grade-eight teachers; Mrs. Courtney Boma, Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Ralph Fantasia and Mr. Troy Barnes. Her teachers said, “Alexa is an honor roll student, who also participates on several sports teams. During her years at the Caribou Middle School, she has been a member of the cross-country, basketball, softball and teams.”
“We feel that Alexa is someone who takes her studies seriously and is a positive role model for her fellow classmates,” continued her teachers, “we are proud to have chosen Alexa as one of our students of the month.”
