The Maine DECA Conference was hosted by the Maine Marketing Education Association. DECA students from Marketing Education programs across the state competed in competency-based role-plays and written exams.
The students studied a variety of different areas such as advertising and display, finance and credit, apparel and accessories; general merchandising, automotive services marketing, hospitality, tourism; sports and entertainment marketing; and food marketing and restaurant management.
During the competition, each student participated in two role-play situations, which tests the student’s skills in areas of human relations, economic knowledge, buying and pricing, selling, and advertising and display.
Second-place trophy winners include: Dan St. Peter, Automotives Services Series; Cortney Therrien, Quick Serve Restaurant; KC Dufour, Sports and Entertainment Services; Chris Nadeau and Trevor Beaulieu, Financial Analysis Management team event; Taylor Willette and Janelle Kernan, Travel and Tourism team event; and Mike Boucher and Evan Susee, Sports and Entertainment team event.
