Hanson, Hartley G., 74, Stockholm, in Stockholm, May 14, 2009. Calling hours are noon, Wednesday, May 20 until the time of the services at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the New Sweden Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

 

    Stockholm – Hartley G. Hanson, 74, died unexpectedly May 14, 2009 at his Stockholm residence as the result of an accident. He was born in Caribou March 13, 1935 the son of the late R. Lincoln and Hildur (Ostlund) Hanson.
    Mr. Hanson was an active member of the Stockholm Baptist Church where he served as a trustee for many years. Hartley served as the youth leader at the Stockholm Boys Brigade for a number of years and also served with the Maine Army National Guard. He will be fondly remembered for his quick humor and many will miss their morning cup of coffee with him at his Stockholm garage where he worked for many years. He married Joyce Sluka September 8, 1972. Surviving in addition to his wife of Stockholm are his son and daughter-in-law Erik and Sue Hanson of Caribou, one brother Roger Hanson of Brewer and one sister Gloria Underwood of Smyrna Delaware, four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hanson was predeceased by a son Steven.
    Friends may call at the First Baptist Church of Stockholm Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from  12 noon until time of services which will be held at 1:00 pm with Rev. John Walsh, officiating. Interment will be in the New Sweden Cemetery. For an online register please go to www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
