Roix, Douglas Lee, 57, Plaistow, NH; at Merrimack Valley Hospital, January 18, 2009. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date. Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, Salem, NH is handling the arangements.

 

    Plaistow, NH – Douglas Lee Roix, 57, passed away on Sunday, January 18th after a long illness at Merrimack Valley Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Presque Isle, ME, the son of Richard Roix of Salem, NH and Glenna (Graham) Dempsey of Bristol, CT. Image
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sue (McCarron) Roix; son, Gregory Roix and his fiancé, Kathy Pavnick; daughters and son-in-laws, Kristy and Marty Melucci and Amie and Christopher Black; and five grandchildren, Alexis and Ashley Roix, Mia and Martin Melucci Jr. and Christopher Angus Black. Doug is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Diana (Roix) and Kenneth Lundberg; twin brother, Donald Roix and his wife Patricia; sister, Robin Lassy; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Raymond Lundberg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Nancie Bilodeau, Glenn Bilodeau, Todd and Teri Bilodeau and John and Gizzy Dempsey; several nieces and nephews great-nieces and nephews; and his extended family, father-in- law, Richard Usher Sr.; brothers-in-law and sister-in- law, Thomas and Lynn McCarron and Richard Usher Jr.; many dear friends; and last but by no means the least, his purrrr paw friend, Molly.
    He was a long time employee in the computer field at Wang Laboratories and a mechanical technician for a number of years at Johnson & Johnston Associates.
    He was an avid golfer and took great enjoyment in the out of doors, hiking, fishing, canoeing and was #1 Fan of John Wayne.
    Doug (Papa) will be forever missed and remain forever in our hearts.
    He was predeceased by his loving and caring grandparents, Phebe (Adams) and Sidney Roix; his father’s wife, Arleen Roix; his mother’s husband, John Dempsey; his mother-in- law, Mary Usher; brothers, Harold and David Bilodeau; and brother-in-law, James McCarron.
    Donations in Doug’s memory will be most appreciated by the family and can be made to St. Christopher Episcopal Church, 187 East Rd., Hampstead, NH 03841.
