The following programs are being offered by the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department from Sept. 1-8.
Walking hours
Walking hours at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday through Sept. 30. Game Room
The game room is open for youths 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The game room houses pool tables, ping-pong tables, foosball and air hockey tables, as well as board games for youths to enjoy.
Open gym
The Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center offers area youths a half basketball court to shoot hoops from 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
CRX September Edition
New this fall, the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department will offer a traveling outdoor recreation program for youths in grades 5-8. Activities include hiking, biking, and fishing. Culminating with a September weekend with a two-night camping adventure to Deboullie Public Reserve Land in the North Maine Woods. Program participants will be required to have a bike in good working condition.
The program, which runs Aug. 27-Sept. 29 and meets Tuesdays and Thursday from 3-5 p.m., is contingent upon successful registration and is limited to the first 12 children. Pre-registration is required.
Ultimate Frisbee
Ultimate Frisbee competitions will be offered from beginners to the elite player. The sport challenges at all levels of play, combining athletic skills of running, catching and throwing. Ultimate Frisbee is for grades 5-8 and meets Mondays from 3-4:30 p.m. from Sept. 28. Pre-registration is required.
Senior trip planned
An adventure trip for seniors 55 and older will be held Sept. 8. The trip goes to Hartland, New Brunswick to tour the Covered Bridge Potato Chip Factory and Potato World Museum. Participants must have a passport or Nexus card. The fee is $20, which includes transportation, tours and a lunch. Pre-registration is required.
Grade 3-4 Soccer
The following schedule is for upcoming games in the Grades 3-4 youth soccer league at Teague Park field: Wednesday, Sept. 2, Galaxy vs. Rapids, 6 p.m.; and Metrostars vs. Fire, 7 p.m.; No games will be played Monday in observance of Labor Day.
Grade 5-6 Soccer
The following schedule is for upcoming games in the Grades 5-6 youth soccer league at Soucie Sports Complex: Wednesday, Sept. 2, Arsenal vs. Liverpool, 6 p.m.; and Chelsea vs. Manchester United, 7 p.m. There will be no games played Monday in observance of Labor Day.
