Literacy Volunteers of Aroostook can be counted on

    Officials with the County Federal Credit Union’s “Count on the County” Initiative Committee have awarded Literacy Volunteers of Aroostook the fifth $1,000 award in the “Count on the County” Initiative.

    Literacy Volunteers of Aroostook shares the gift of reading with adult learners through one-on-one tutoring, increasing the likelihood they’ll succeed in academic pursuits.
    The $1,000 will help support Literacy Volunteers of Aroostook purchase training materials for volunteer tutors and books.
    The County Federal Credit Union (CFCU) ‘Count on the County’ Initiative is awarding $1,000 to a non-profit organization in Aroostook County within the field of membership over a 12-month period.
     CFCU encourages everyone to take part in this initiative by telling us who you think is most deserving. Residents of the region can nominate their non-profit organization at www.countyfcu.org.
    Eligible submissions must be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in good standing.
