Georgia Walker, 59, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, in a local hospital. Georgia was born July 15, 1951, in Hartford, Conn. to Edward and Roseanne (Devoe) Searles. She moved to Caribou, Maine, as a small child where she spent the rest of her childhood, and graduated from Caribou High School. She married Airman James “Jim” Bowen on May 19, 1969. They lived in many places during their marriage, and Georgia worked as a nurse. They had three children, James Kevin, Brian and Kristy. Georgia and Jim were divorced in 1986, but continued to be close friends. She married Herman Walker November 11, 1988, in Abilene. Georgia attended the Ranchhouse Fellowship Cowboy Church. She loved playing games and visiting with her friends on Facebook. She also loved bingo and reading Stephen King books. Georgia was a very giving person, especially to children, always donating to Toys For Tots and the Hendrick Home for Children Christmas “Angel” Tree.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Walker of Tye; three sons, James Bowen and wife, Mistelle of Dallas, Brian Bowen of Anna, Randy Walker and wife, Kim of Ft. Worth; three daughters, Kristy Lee and husband Eric of Tye, Debbie Rosales and husband, Silver of Coleman, Kande Flowers and husband, Mike of Corsicana; her parents, Edward and Roseanne Searles of Caribou, Maine; sister, Linda Plourde and husband, Ronnie of Derry, New Hampshire; seven grandchildren; and first husband, Jim Bowen of Abilene.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Searles.
Services were 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 11th, at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Shugart officiating. Burial was at the Tye Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
