Caribou – Edward J. Longley, 60, died unexpectedly October 27, 2010 at Presque Isle. He was born in Caribou September 29, 1950, the son of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Dufour) Longley.
Mr. Longley was a 1969 graduate of Caribou High School and served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed at J.M. Huber for over 20 years and had more recently began a new career at McCain Foods.
Surviving in addition to his wife of over 37 years, Vera (Bragg) Longley of Caribou are his son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Lisa Longley; two grandchildren, Lariah and Logan Longley all of Caribou; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Longley; sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Donald Guillemette all of Caribou; mother-in-law, Glenna Bragg of Washburn. Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Mr Longley was predeceased by a brother, Maynard.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 6-8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services and military honors were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 from the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Palmer, officiating.
