Library to host local mountaineer

Accordingto Diane Dubois, director at the Caribou Public Library stories of the Himalayas have always intrigued adventure readers. On Friday, Feb. 25 from 6:30-8 p.m. the Library will shed some light on the fascination of the strange lands as local resident and mountaineer Pete McCorison visits the library to share stories of his 20-day trek to the Everest base camp and a climb to Island Peak at over 20000 feet.

McCorison will provide a power-point presentation with excellent pictures of the area including the historic behemoth Everest. He will also inform those in attendance how to get started on a trek of this nature including getting in shape, dietary concerns, packing the appropriate gear.

During the evening program McCorison will share many of his stories pertaining to the native culture.
