Wilfred Robideau Jr.
CARIBOU — Wilfred Robideau Jr., 89, died March 11, 2011 at Caribou. He was born in Limestone, June 3, 1921 the son of the late Wilfred and Geneve (Martin) Robideau Sr. Mr. Robideau served with the U.S. Army during WW II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a life member and past commander of the Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 VFW, as well as, a member and past commander of the Purple Heart veterans group. Wilfred was employed by the civil service at Loring Air Force Base for over twenty-five years as a heavy equipment operator, and was a longtime member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marie (Lacombe) Robideau of Caribou and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Robideau was predeceased by his first wife, Joan “Jo” (Dube) Robideau.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Military honors were by the officers and members of the VFW. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
