Grades 1-2 soccer
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting registrations for its grades 1-2 soccer program, which gets under way this week. The program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30 p.m. through Oct. 6. Pre-registration is required.
Fall outings for adults and seniors
There are some outings coming up geared toward adults and seniors. A flyer with a full list of trips is available at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.
For those ages 18-55, a guided hiking trip to Deboullie will be held on Oct. 22.
For those 55 and older, a guided sightseeing tour to Spudland Alpacas/Wood Prairie Farms is set for Sept. 20, on Oct. 4 there is a guided sightseeing tour of Kings Landing, while on Oct. 6 there is a sightseeing tour of Goughan Farms plus fishing.
Pre-registration is required.
All About Me
This program is designed for girls in grades 7-11 and the goal is for girls to grow and learn through skills training, mentoring, journaling and self-awareness activities.
Pre-registration is required. The first session is under way, runs through Dec. 1 and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. The fee is $25.
Volunteers sought
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is seeking volunteers to assist with the annual Halloween Party slated for Monday, Oct. 31. Individuals, businesses and organizations interested in providing a game or activity during the two-hour event are asked to contact the recreation office at 493-4224.
Soccer schedule
The schedule for Sept. 21 in the grades 3-4 soccer league will see the Galaxy and Revolution square off at 6 p.m., followed by the Rapids against the Fire at 7 p.m.
On Sept. 26, the Metrostars and the Galaxy will do battle at 6 p.m. The games will be played at the Teague Park soccer field.
In grades 5-6 action Sept. 21, Manchester United and Arsenal will play at 6 p.m. and Liverpool and Chelsea will match up at 7 p.m.
The Sept. 26 slate includes Manchester United and Chelsea at 6 p.m. and for Arsenal and Liverpool at 7 p.m. These will take place at the Soucie Sports Complex.
