Terrier (Allen), Pearl, 102, of Limestone, on December 20, 2011. Funeral services were held December 22, 2011 at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home.


AR Obit Pearl TerrierLimestone – Pearl Allen Terrier, 102, wife of the late Robert Terrier, died peacefully, Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at a Presque Isle Nursing Facility with family by her side. She was born July 22, 1909, in Westfield, the daughter of Almond and Nellie Allen. She had two siblings, a twin brother, Percy, and a sister, Ola.

Pearl grew up in Westfield, and married Robert Terrier in 1927. They moved to Fort Fairfield in 1944 then on to Bristol, CT in 1954. Pearl worked for Hurley Manufacturing Company in New Hartford, CT for 15 years. After retiring they moved back to Maine, residing in Limestone. Each summer she and her husband would take their camper to Long Lake spending the entire summer. Pearl loved to play Bingo, which she was still doing, played poker with friends until the age of 98, and attended her last horse race at the Fair at the age of 102. Pearl was a huge Red Sox Fan, never missing a game.

Pearl is survived by a son, Robert “Sammy” Terrier of Middletown, Rhode Island; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Pearl was predeceased by her brother, Percy and sister Ola; three sons, Percy, Neil, Eldon Terrier and three daughters, Marion Edgecomb, Elsie Rogers, and Linda Calkins. Pearl loved her family and especially visits from grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation and a funeral service were held and officiated by Pastor Ellen Cleaves on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, ME.
