WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Susan Collins was pleased to have Alexis Gereben of Van Buren as an intern working in her Aroostook County Office during the Fall 2011 Semester. “Alexis has been a great asset to my Aroostook County office,” said Sen. Collins. “As a native to the area, Alexis’ knowledge and understanding of local issues and concerns has been beneficial in meeting the needs of constituents throughout Aroostook County and the Saint John Valley. I was delighted to have her as a member of my staff and I am glad she has had the opportunity to learn the inner workings of a Congressional office by experiencing it first-hand.”
Gereben, the daughter of Balazs and Janice Gereben, is a 2008 graduate of Van Buren District Secondary School. She is a senior at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and will be graduating in May with a degree in elementary education with a concentration in social studies. Gereben stated that she has enjoyed serving the citizens of northern Maine and is sad to leave the friendly staff in Sen. Collin’s Caribou office at the end of this month.
