CARIBOU, Maine — Susan White, principal at the Caribou Middle School has announced the names of those students selected as by their respective teachers as Student of the Month for April.
Sierra Ouellette, a grade-six student was named April Student of the Month by her teachers, Mr. John Pelletier, Mr. Vaughn McLaughlin, Mr. Ryan Deprey, Mrs. Ruth Dionne, Mrs. Stacey Michaud, Mr. PJ Gorneault and Mrs. Stephanie Bresett.
“Sierra is an honor roll student who strives to always do her best in whatever endeavor she undertakes,” said the CMS teachers. “She is a member of the Caribou Middle School band, participates in the recreation soccer and cheerleading programs and has earned a bronze award in her Girl Scout Troop 709. She is also a dancer with the Maine Dance Academy,” they said. “She has found time in her busy schedule to volunteer at the Caribou Pet Rescue and has done fundraising for that organization. For the past three years, she has been an active participant in the Relay for Life program,” the teachers added.
“She may be short in stature, but Sierra is big in kindness, especially with her peers. Her cheerful disposition and positive attitude along with her willingness to help whenever she is needed make her a wonderful role model for her classmates and a pleasure to have in class for her teachers,” they added.
Adrieanna Damboise, was chosen as Student of the Month for April by her grade-six teachers Ms. Sarah LaJoie, Mr. Andrew Sullivan, Mrs. Vicki King, Mrs. Twyla Learnard, Mrs. Susan Keaton, Mr. John Habeeb, Mrs. Stacey Michaud and Mr. Ryan Deprey. “Adrieanna is kind, compassionate and well-liked by her peers and our staff,” stated the CMS teachers. “She is a hard working student, coming to class prepared and always striving to do her best. She is respectful and willing to help when ever and wherever she is needed and her smile warms the classroom every day.”
“Adrieanna is a member of the CMS chorus and participates in track and cheerleading,” said her teachers. “She is highly deserving of this recognition because she lives out these positive traits consistently at school,” they added.
Emma Belyea, a seventh-grade CMS student was named Student of the Month for April by her teachers Mrs. Barnes, Mr. McLaughlin, Mrs. King, Mrs. Carpenter, Mr. Gorneault, Mr. Gengler, Mr. Ouellette, Mrs. Rhinebolt, Mr. Perreault and Mrs. Curtis.
The team teachers stated, “Emma is an exemplary school citizen who shows the utmost respect to her teachers and classmates. She has a ready smile for everyone at CMS and her kindness to others sets an example for all to follow.”
“Emma is a joy to have in the classroom,” they added, “because she is always positive and excited about learning. As an outstanding student, she maintains the highest standards for her schoolwork and in addition to her performance in the classroom, Emma is a three-season athlete at CMS, participating in soccer, ski team and track.”
Bryce Coffin, a seventh-grade student was selected to be Student of the Month for April by his teachers Mr. Perreault, Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Gorneault, Mrs. Carpenter, Mrs. Rhinebolt, Mrs. Curtis, Mr. Gengler and Mr. Ouellette.
“Bryce is a nice student in our building,” said his teachers. “He is always doing what is expected and is very kind to everyone he comes in contact with — a great school citizen and respectful student.”
“An honor roll student who performs at a high academic level, Bryce was a member of the CMS cross country ski team this season, a hurdler on the CMS track team and is a member of the CMS strings program in which he plays the violin,” added the teachers. “An avid hunter and fisherman, he is quite an experienced outdoorsman for his age and is able to identify most any tracks, scat or trees found in the Maine woods.”
Donovan Savage, an eighth-grade student was named Student of the Month for April by his Caribou Middle School teachers Mr. Fantasia, Mr. Travis Barnes, Mrs. Carpenter, Mr. Deprey, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mrs. Dow, who stated, “Donovan has been a member of Student Organization, taken part in the Gifted and Talented Program and has been a consistent honor roll student.”
“He has also excelled at athletics, playing three years of CMS basketball, two years of soccer and has been a member of the track and cross-country teams,” said his teachers. “Outside of school Donovan has taken part in Caribou recreation programs, AYBL basketball and Little League. We feel that during his time at CMS Donovan has been a model school citizen who is well respected by his fellow students and his teachers,” they added.
Eileen Patton was selected as Student of the Month for April by her grade-eight teachers Mr. Travis Barnes, Mr. Troy Barnes, Mr. Fantasia, Mrs. Carpenter, Mr. Gorneault, Mr. Gengler, Mr. Ouellette and Mrs. Dow.
“Eileen was selected for this award because she quietly goes about her day, always striving to do her best,” said the CMS teachers. “She always works towards perfection and never seems to let anything bother her. She is a true friend to her peers and relied upon when they need her. Eileen has participated in girl’s soccer, basketball, Nordic skiing and in softball during her years at Caribou Middle School,” they added.
