Department offers new pool participation fees
The Limestone Recreation Department has recently updated the participation fees for the recreation pool, located in the Limestone Community School, in an effort to provide the surrounding communities with more options.
Limestone and Caswell residents are still able to use the pool for free during recreation pool hours. Non-residents now have new options to choose from and they are as follows:
Single Pass: day, $2; week, $8; month, $25; couple pass: day, $3; week, $12; month, $35; family pass: day, $5; week, $20; month, $50.
Winter Fun Day
The town of Limestone will hold its fourth annual Winter Fun Day on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Limestone Community School.
Groups and organizations from the town of Limestone will pitch in and provide a variety of free outdoor activities for the entire family to enjoy. Outdoor activities will include dogsled rides, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, outdoor laser tag, tubing, sledding, snowmobile rides, a large bonfire, and hotdog and marshmallow toasting on a fire pit.
Indoor activities will also be incorporated into the event so people can go inside and warm up before heading back out into the snow. Indoor activities will include arts and crafts activities and a clam bake, with all proceeds to benefit the Maine School of Science and Mathematics’ Student Activity Fund.
Valentine’s Day-themed Arts and Crafts
The Limestone Recreation Department will hold a Valentine’s Day-themed arts and crafts activity on the following Wednesdays: Jan. 30 and Feb. 6 and 13 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Limestone Recreation Center.
This program is for individuals in pre-kindergarten through grade 4. Participants will create Valentines for people of their choice that they can pass out on Valentine’s Day. There is no fee to participate in this activity.
Zumba toning fitness classes
The Limestone Recreation Department will offer Zumba Toning fitness classes on Thursdays beginning Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Limestone Recreation Center.
No registration is required and a $5 participation fee is associated with this class. Participants are asked to bring two one-pound weights with them to class.
Aqua Zumba fitness classes
The Limestone Recreation Department will offer Aqua Zumba fitness classes on Tuesdays beginning Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in the indoor pool. No registration is required and there is a $6 participation fee associated with this class.
