CARIBOU — The new 2013 Mr. Caribou wore his regal crown and sash enthusiastically after winning the April 12 pageant, which was a good thing as “enthusiastic” was the adjective Lucas Kinney thought friends would use to best describe him.

“Because I’m always willing to try something new, even if it means making a fool out of myself in the process,” Kinney told the judges during the interview portion of the pageant. Answering his second interview question, Kinney also said that if he had to be on the cover of a magazine it would be Rolling Stones and lastly, explained that he would chose to be successful rather than handsome or smart if he had to pick one.
“Well I’m already handsome … so successful,” he said to the laughing judges and cheering crowd. “When you’re handsome or smart, things come naturally to you, but to be successful you have to work for things to get that sense of accomplishment.”
For the evening’s talent portion, Kinney sang and accompanied himself on the guitar.
Kinney wasn’t the only musically inclined contestant; first runner-up Lukas Lagasse showcased his considerable talent with a piano piece.
Second runner-up Jordan Bevins treated the audience to multiple talents, with high energy dancing and a juggling assortment; Bevins also had the highest ticket sales.
Mr. Congeniality Alex Scott brought a little rock ‘n roll to the performing arts center with his electric guitar; contestant Elijah Verhoff paired his vocal skills with his acoustic guitar ability, and fellow contestant Tyler Dombroski showed off his dancing skills while donning a tutu.

With fingers flying about the neck of his guitar, Alex Scott performed a rendition of “Hey Jude.”     Elijah Verhoff sang to the audience as he accompanied himself on the acoustic guitar.

Mr. Caribou 2013 Lucas Kinney earned his title partially through his talented guitar abilities and vocal talent.     Not too many pageant contestants highlight juggling during the talent portion, but they might now that Jordan Bevins proved how impressive the skill can be. Bevins also juggled basketballs and performed a dance number.

Tyler Dombroski embraced his feminine side to perform a dance to various songs during the Mr. Caribou pageant.     Lukas Lagasse tickled the ivories with a spirited score from “The Pirates of the Caribbean,” helping him earn the title First Runner-Up in the pageant.
