CARIBOU, Maine — VA facilities across the nation are once again holding VA2K Walk and Roll events on Wednesday, May 15, which is also National Employee Health and Fitness Day.
VA2K is designated to help employees recognize the importance of exercise and nutrition and help them live healthier lives.
This event also allows the Department of Veterans Affairs to raise awareness and support the needs of homeless veterans.
Last year’s event was hugely successful. Approximately $20,000 worth of new items, gift cards and cash were given to support homeless veterans in Maine.
The Caribou VA Clinic will hold their event from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cary Medical Center trails. There will be an honor guard presentation, a brief welcoming, healthy snacks and water.
