FORT KENT — A premier exhibition of photographs by University of Maine at Fort Kent student Sarah Englund entitled “Sarah Jean Photography,” will be on display in UMFK’s Blake Library Gallery through Wednesday, July 3.
“Photography is my number one passion as I can be so creatively expressive through it,” Englund said. “I can show everybody how I see the world, and as an artist, that is my number one priority. In my show, you will get a little taste of the county through my eyes.”
The 21-years-old Caribou native has been taking photos for quite a few years now. Englund also hosted an art talk at the gallary on June 19.
Currently a junior at UMFK, Englund is working on an associates degree in criminal justice and a bachelors degree in public safety administration.
“I plan to build my skills in any way possible. I hope to become a nationally-published photographer, as I was when I was 14. Eventually, I would like to have a studio in my own house and pursue portrait photography. But for right now, I enjoy taking pictures of nature/landscapes and pets,” Englund added.
The exhibit may be viewed during the summer library hours. For more information, contact Sofia Birden at 834-7527.
