Local ladies place at Potato Blossom pageants

    Taking top honors in the July 15 Little Miss Maine Potato Blossom Festival pageant were, from left: Amanda Poulin, daughter of Karen and David Poulin of Woodland, first runner-up; Renee Lapointe, daughter of Christine and Michael Lapointe of Van Buren, Little Miss Maine Potato Queen 2013; and Emma Crouse, daughter of Sarah and Ron Crouse of Fort Fairfield, second runner-up. Amalla Peterson, daughter of Andrea Peterson and Mike Stuart of New Sweden, was named Miss Congeniality by her peers.

    Representing the Junior Miss Potato Blossom Festival royalty for 2013 are, from left, Emily Michaud, daughter of Trevor and Danielle Michaud of Limestone, first runner-up; Chloe Wheeler, daughter of Mitchell and Allison Wheeler of Mars Hill, 2013 Jr. Miss Maine Potato Queen; and Mayce Kinney, daughter of Jirad and Kim Kinney of Presque Isle, second runner-up. Samantha Fortin, daughter of Robert and Robin Fortin of Caribou, was named Miss Congeniality by her peers during the July 17 pageant.
