Trail festival slated in Star City

    PRESQUE ISLE — The Nordic Trail Festival, a celebration of community, trails and lifestyle, will be held at the Nordic Heritage Center Aug. 2-4.
    Registration takes place from 3-8 p.m. Aug. 2, with the festival opener party taking place at the Quoggy Jo Lodge from 6-9 p.m. The “short” track world championships are scheduled for 7 p.m.

    On Aug. 3, registration for the six- and 12-hour races is held from 7-8 a.m. The races get under way at 9 a.m. The youth mountain race is held at 11 a.m. and the trail running race for youth is at noon.
    On Aug. 4, biathlon and downhill registration begins at 7 a.m. The 12-hour race awards will be presented at 8:30 a.m.
    The MTB and trial run biathlon begins at 10 a.m. and the downhill mountain bike race is at 11:30 a.m.
