Public hearing
Maine’s Regulatory Fairness Board will hold a public hearing from 9 a.m. to noon in the Alumni Room at UMPI Friday, July 26. This is a follow-up meeting to the May 10 hearing and is being co-hosted by the Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce. Science Boot Camp
The University of Maine at Presque Isle will offer a Science Boot Camp, “Team Discover,” for students in grades 3-5, on Aug. 5-9 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Folsom 105. Designed to explore the world of science, the camp is fast-paced and engages in hands-on learning, experiments, critical thinking, and learning in a stimulating and creative environment. Class topics include DNA and biology, ecology, astronomy, rocks and minerals, chemistry, food experiments, and physics.
