If you ask the owners of Leo & Sons Citgo Inc. what the secret to staying in business in this area is, they will tell you that it’s not being afraid of hard work and being honest with your customers. That is especially true when the business involves the maintenance and repair of vehicles.
Located at 231 South Main Street in Caribou, Leo’s has been in business since 1973 when Leo St. Peter and his wife, Jeannette, were given the opportunity to take over the garage from the previous owner. The St. Peters’ sons, Dale and Scott, have worked at Leo’s practically since their father acquired ownership, and they have followed in Leo’s footsteps and are now co-owners of the business.

The brothers agree that their father’s reputation for honest and superior work has kept the shop thriving for so long.
“Customer service is the most important thing,” said Dale. “Without customers, we wouldn’t be here,” he added, emphasizing that Leo’s staff treats people the way they would like to be treated.
Dale explained that repairs and service are only done if the job is completely necessary.
“We don’t do something you don’t need done,” he stated.
One feature the service station offers if Fast Lube, a Citgo program, which is a process that every vehicle should undergo every 3,000 miles or every three months.
“Keeping fresh oil in your vehicle will make it last longer and cut down on the car’s wear,” Dale explained.
Checking the car over during a Fast Lube takes about 30 minutes. During that time, the oil and filter are changed and other fluid levels, including the transmission, windshield washer, brake fluids and antifreeze, are also examined and replenished if necessary.
After topping off the liquids that keep a vehicle running smoothly, Leo’s mechanics also check to ensure proper tire pressure.
Leo’s sells three grades of Citgo gasoline and offers diesel fuel and kerosene.
In addition to engine maintenance and general vehicle repair, Leo’s also provides AAA emergency service, wrecker and flatbed towing.
