Team Canada wins men’s league

    CARIBOU — Team Canada is the champion in the Caribou Recreation Department Men’s Summer Basketball League.

    Team Canada prevailed over Loring Job Corps in the Aug. 26 championship game, 100-77.
    In the semifinals held Aug. 21, Loring Job Corps defeated Caribou II, while Team Canada knocked off Caribou I.
    The final regular season standings were as follows: Caribou II (11-1), Team Canada (8-4), Caribou I (7-5), Loring Job Corps (7-5), Mars Hill (6-6), West’s Team (2-10) and Jeremiah’s Team (1-11).
    Scores of regular games played since Aug. 7 are as follows: Caribou I 78, Jeremiah’s Team 64; Caribou II 72, West’s Team 49; Mars Hill 83, Team Canada 75; Team Canada 91, Caribou I 75; Mars Hill 75, Caribou II 54; Loring Job Corps 63, West’s Team 62; Mars Hill 75, West’s Team 69; Caribou II 64, Jeremiah’s Team 53; and Caribou I 83, Loring Job Corps 76.
