Breast Cancer Walk/Ride Saturday

The 21st annual Walk and Ride for Care Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, sponsored by the Cary Medical Center Auxiliary, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, starting at the Chan Center at Cary Medical Center in Caribou.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with the walk to begin at 10 a.m. Participating bikers will depart immediately afterward.
The walk and ride will end at the hospital with refreshments and lunch provided, as well as tours of the new Women’s Imaging Center. Pink breast cancer awareness bracelets will be given out to all participants and a breast cancer awareness basket will be raffled off.
Aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. Breast cancer has a profound effect on us all, be it a family member, a friend or a neighbor. Awareness and early detection are key.
“Our Walk and Ride For Care event has become a very successful fund raising event thanks to the hard work of many auxiliary members, the dedication of our walkers and those who make pledges every year,” commented Allyson Masse, auxiliary president. “We are looking forward to another great walk this year and hope everyone who participates will take some time after the walk to tour the new Women’s Imaging Center at the hospital.”
Pledge forms can be obtained at the Caribou Chamber of Commerce, Cary Medical Center, all Pines Health Services locations in Caribou, Presque Isle, Washburn, Van Buren and Fort Fairfield, at local banks and the Aroostook Centre Mall customer service desk.
All proceeds will benefit breast health programs and services at Cary Medical Center.
