A smart move for our future

To the editor:
Could northern Maine have more tourism on the horizon? The wilderness of northern Maine is a national treasure second only to Alaska. Northern Maine includes legendary Maine sporting camps with great food and recreational opportunities.

South of here in southern Maine and throughout New England there’s Lyme disease making fishing, canoeing, camping and hunting hazardous to your health.
Perhaps the chambers of commerce could have pictures and stories of the northern Maine wilderness including the sporting camps and the families who go there.
Protecting our wilderness from open-pit mining and preserving our water quality laws could be a smart move for the future.
