This is Maggie — having some fun at the Halfway Home Pet Rescue Adoption Facility. Volunteers say that Maggie is a sweet 4-year-old spayed domestic shorthair who came to the shelter after her owner passed away. “It took her awhile to grieve the changes in her life, but she’s ready to move on now,” volunteers said, adding that Maggie is eager to be a loving companion. In honor of veterans, all adult cats are available for free through Nov. 17 to veterans and their families. Additional information can be obtained by visiting the HHPR’s Facebook page or www.halfwayhomepetrescue.org to learn more about the adoption process and available animals. Interested individuals can also call Mary at 999-1075 for an application or to make an appointment to see the cats. Regular adoption hours are Saturday, noon to 3 p.m., 489 Main Street in Caribou.
