WOODLAND – Sheldon L. Sturgeon, 68, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at his home in Woodland. Sheldon was born in Caribou, the son of Lawrence and Viola (Anderson) Sturgeon.
Sheldon served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war, both in Field Artillery and as a mechanic. He then worked at Loring Air Force Base in Civil Service, and served in the National Guard for more than 30 years. Sheldon loved working on cars, as well as riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Sheldon is survived by his wife, Connie; his sons, Shawn Sturgeon, of Clearwater, FL, and Benjamin Sturgeon of New Port Richey, FL; the mother of his sons, Donna Sturgeon; his sister, Mona Michaels of Caribou; his granddaughter; Chloe Strugeon; and step-grandchildren, Logan and Colton.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Andrea Johnston, and Lorina Bourland.
Friends and family called from 4-6 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 12, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, where a funeral service was held on Monday at 6 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring at New Sweden Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.lancastermorgan.com.
