Thurley F. (Adams) McLaughlin Allen, 84, of Salem, NH died Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Lawrence General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Thurley was born and educated in Limestone, Maine, the daughter of the late Hazel (King) and William Adams.
She retired 20 years ago from working in electronics. She enjoyed crafting and was always making things for others. She especially loved knitting, crocheting and quilting. Thurley taught quilting at the Ingram Senior Center in Salem and she volunteered at bingo at the Boys and Girls Club for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern star and the Daughters of Rebekah.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph McLaughlin; her second husband, Ernest Allen; her brother, Bud Adams; and her daughter-in-law, Mary McLaughlin.
Thurley is survived by her children, Joseph McLaughlin and his wife, Rebecca of Limestone, ME, Elmira “Trudy” Tilton and her husband, David of Salem, NH and William McLaughlin of Billerica, MA; her eight grandchildren, William Smallwood, Kenneth, Robin and Rebecca McLaughlin, David, Jeffrey and Gregory Tilton and Nancy Coco, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
At Thurley’s request, services will be private for the family.
