The rosters for the 24th annual Aroostook County All-Star High School Basketball Classic have been announced. The teams feature 20 girls and 20 boys from the senior class of 2014, representing 17 Aroostook County schools. The games will be held on Monday, March 10 at Caribou High School.
For the girls, Team Pink, coached by Larry Worcester are Delaney Williams from Caribou; Mariah Cyr from Easton; Logan Bubar, Nicole Giberson and Whitney McNamee from Fort Fairfield; Melissa Cantafio and Mariah Williams from Limestone/MSSM; Kaleigh Kinney from Presque Isle; Mataya Hartin from Southern Aroostook; and Parise Rossignol from Van Buren.
For girls, Team Blue, coached by Tom Berry are Lauren Doak and Chelsea Plourde from Fort Kent; Jessica Dickison and Samantha Keegan from Houlton; Morgan Livezey from Katahdin; Sable Altvater and Jessica Tucker from Southern Aroostook; and Carmen Bragg, Carsyn Koch and Nicole Olson from Washburn.
For the boys, Team Red coached by Steve Shaw are Tyler Chasse from Ashland; Spencer Garrison from Central Aroostook; Isaac Cone, Elijah Crockett, Nick Guiod and Kole Buzzeo from Houlton; Wyatt Morse from Katahdin; Drew Bates, Cody Lyford and Bradley Shields from Presque Isle; and Jake Rioux from Van Buren.
Playing for boys, Team Blue, coached by Phil Faulkner are Cody Herbert, Kameron Manter and Derek Richardson from Caribou; Noah Bernard from Fort Fairfield; Hunter Turner from Easton; Cody Plourde from Fort Kent; Tyler Sherman and Deyrell Vargas from Hodgdon; Ian Lee from Madawaska; and Nate Boynton from Wisdom.
Alexis Bell of Limestone/MSSM and Logan Crone of East Grand were originally selected to compete, but both are unable to attend.
The girls’ game begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys’ game at 7 p.m. at the Caribou High School gymnasium. Admission is $5 for adult and $3 for students. All proceeds benefit the Aroostook League Scholar Athletes Scholarship Program.
The evening will also feature a half-court shot promotion sponsored by County Physical Therapy and halftime entertainment from The Maine Dance Academy.
