PRESQUE ISLE — The Presque Isle Fish & Game Club will once again host the Sportsman’s Show at the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Gentile Hall on Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6.

This year’s event will get off on the right foot, thanks to a visit by the L.L. Bean Bootmobile.
“The Bootmobile will be at the show this year. For those interested in checking out the unique vehicle, it will be at the show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day,” said Nick Archer, event organizer.
Festivities include special attractions and exhibits from throughout the state.
“We’ll have the Kids Trout Fishing Pond, sponsored by L.L. Bean; the shooting range, bow range and a video hunting game. We have over 75 exhibitors from Maine, New Brunswick, Labrador, Quebec and New England,” said Archer.
Riverside Restaurant staff will be there to serve hungry visitors. There will be hourly door prizes for kids, with an Old Town Canoe offered as a door prize for adults.
“We will also have the moose calling contest and Larry Barnes, a Maine master falconer, will be returning with his birds of prey,” Archer said.
Show hours are: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5, with children 10 and under getting in free. Proceeds will allow youth to attend Conservation Camp.
