PRESQUE ISLE — Representing NorState FCU, Denise Zarate, manager of the Ashland branch, attended the 175th anniversary of the incorporation of Aroostook County on Sunday, March 16, at the University of Maine in Presque Isle.
The honorary guest, Sen. Susan Collins, led the ceremonial opening of the time capsule and Aroostook County Commissioner Norm Fournier handled the ceremonial closing of the potato barrel time capsule.
Zarate brought with her a few NorState FCU items to place in The County’s time capsule which will be opened on March 16, 2039, during the 200th anniversary of the incorporation of Aroostook.
Some of the NorState items that were placed in a drive-thru capsule were business cards, youth program items, promotional items, postage, new currency, current advertisement and a few more items of interest.
