CARIBOU — The newest little misses of the area were crowned during a pageant on March 29, during which Madelyn Cote was named Little Miss Caribou, Maya Peterson was named Little Miss New Sweden and Jillian Quist Zeigler was named Little Miss Woodland.

Peterson was also named Miss Congeniality of the pageant, and received the highest score for the interview portion of the pageant. Other awards went to Cote, who received the highest score for the talent portion of the event and had the highest ticket sales, followed by Zeigler and Peterson.
Six-year-old Cote is the daughter of Ryan and Nicole Cote. For her talent, she performed a comedic monologue “When I Grow Up.”
Also competing for the title of Little Miss Caribou were Bianka Lilliana Alejo, 9, daughter of Santos Alejo and Erica Alejo, and Kallee Grace Parent, 8, daughter of Jason and Kim Parent. Alejo performed a medley of songs on her recorder during the talent portion of the pageant, and Parent sang and tap danced to the song “In Summer.”
Also competing in the event was Little Miss New Sweden contestant Kammie Delia Fisher, 8, daughter of Brad and Wendy Hewitt. She performed a dance to the song “Let it Go.”
Taking their final walks as Caribou royalty were Little Miss Caribou 2013 Claire Ouellette, daughter of Josh and Karen Ouellette;  Little Miss New Sweden 2013 Amalla Peterson, daughter of Mike Stuart and Andrea Peterson, and Little Miss Woodland 2013 Amanda Poulin, daughter of David Poulin and Karen Poulin.
Little Miss Connor 2013 Jessica Soucy, daughter of Jim and Tammy Soucy, also performed in the pageant; as no contestants competed for her title, Soucy will remain Little Miss Connor (but will not compete in the Little Miss Potato Blossom Pageant come this spring).
The 2014 Little Miss Pageant was directed by Cheryl Bossie and was sponsored by the Lister Knowlton VFW Auxiliary. Proceeds from the pageant benefit VFW Auxiliary Cancer Aid and Research Programs.
