Madore, Stella M., 74, March 26, 2014. Interment to be held in the spring at New Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
PRESQUE ISLE – Stella May (Nadeau) Madore, 74, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, passing away peacefully Wednesday afternoon March 26, 2014, after a brief illness at the Aroostook Medical Center, with loved ones by her side. She was born April 10, 1939, in Caribou to Fred and Rita (Guerrette) Nadeau.
While living in Caribou, she raised four children with her husband Nelson. She worked at Birdseye Foods until 1980 when she became employed at Burrelle’s Press Clipping in Presque Isle, moving there in 1985. She spent the rest of her years being happily independent, retiring in December of 2006. Her faith and church were very important to her, and she was well known for her soprano singing voice. She shared that gift by singing at weddings and funerals for most of her life. She was also a member of the Caribou Choral Society and church choirs. It was a dream come true when she recorded and released a CD (Spirit Blest) of favorite inspirational songs and gave the proceeds to her church choir.
We are all heartbroken to lose our beloved mother, sister, “Gaga”, aunt and friend so quickly. Stella leaves behind three sons, Chris Madore of Kingston, GA, Scott Madore and his wife, Sue, of Presque Isle, and Bruce Madore of Caribou; one daughter, Lisa Chamberlain and her husband Jimmy, of Hermon; two sisters, Audrey Silsbee and her husband, Gary, and Linda Ouellette and her husband, Cliff, all of Caribou; grandchildren, Travis Kinney, Courtney Madore, Caitlin Chamberlain, Missy Shade and her husband, Brent, and Matthew Madore and his wife, Destiny; great-grand-children, Abel Madore, Chloe and Harley Shade; nieces and nephews, Tammy, Terry, Tony, Todd, and Sean; friends, “the girls”, Terri and Chris and many church friends. Stella was predeceased by her father; mother; and former husband and friend, Nelson Madore; a brother, Ernest; a niece, Tina, and her children, Courtney and Cody, and nephew Chris Ouellette; several aunts and uncles; and her special furry little girl, Chloe the Yorkie.
Friends called Sunday evening, March 30, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, March 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Main Street, Presque Isle with Fr. Raymond Morency, celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring at the New Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments took place at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 12 Chapman Road, Presque Isle, following the service.
