American Flag ColorChung, Winchell D., 82, April 6, 2014.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Leeds Episcopal Church, Markham, VA.  Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.  Arrangements by Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA.

  Winchell Dosuk Chung of Amissville, VA died on April 6, 2014 at his home in Fauquier County, VA. He was born on March 15, 1932 in Honolulu, HI, to Euicho and Hazel Pahk Chung.
    After he retired from the United States Air Force, where he served as a radar navigator on the B52, he and his wife were partners in an arts and crafts supply store in Caribou, ME, where he became a skilled craftsman in wood, leather, and stained glass. They moved to Fauquier County, VA in 1986, where they became well known for their wooden figures of Saint Nicholas.
    Winchell was active in community affairs, including Fauquier Community Action Committee, and Habitat For Humanity. He loved choral music, singing in church choirs since childhood, as well as the Caribou Choral Society and the Front Royal Oratorio Society. He was an active member of Leeds Episcopal Church and a faithful choir member for many years.
    He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann Davis Chung; three children, Winchell D. Chung, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Virginia M. Chung of Yukon, OK, and Davis E. Chung of Manassas, VA; and by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Maine. Also surviving are two sisters, Eldean C. Scott of Lawai, Kauai, HI and Afton C. Cherry of Austin, TX.
    A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Leeds Episcopal Church, 4332 Leeds Manor Road, Markham, VA 22643. Inurnment will be in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leeds Episcopal Church or Hospice of the Rapidan, P.O. Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701.
