Vacation week busy at rec center

The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department has plenty of activities available during next week’s school vacation.
Inflatable Day is Tuesday, April 22 for grades 3-6 from 10 a.m.-noon. The fee is $2 per person. Come and have some fun in the gym with these large inflatables.
An indoor soccer round-robin is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23 and will feature teams from neighboring towns. This is for grades 6-8 and the registration fee is $2 per person. Pre-registration is required.
The recreation department is offering a CPR/AED/First Aid Training class on Wednesday, April 23 for grades 5 to adults from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The fee is $35 per person. Pre-registration is required.
There will be a kick ball tournament on Thursday, April 24 at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. This tournament is for youths in grades 4-6 and other towns will join in for this fun event. The fee is $2 and pre-registration is required.
A wilderness survival course will be offered April 24 and 25. The course will cover shelter building, archery and rifle shooting, knot tying and wilderness first aid. This 24-hour course will depart from the recreation center at noon and parents will need to pick up their child on the following day at noon. The fee is $40. Pre-registration is required.
On Friday, April 25, Caribou youths will make the trip to Presque Isle for the annual dodgeball tournament against surrounding towns. There will be divisions for grades 3-5 and 6-8 and the fee is $2 per person, with pre-registration required.
There will be an ATV safety course offered Saturday April 26 for youths ages 10 and over at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. The fee is $5 and pre-registration is required.

Adult dodgeball tourney
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring an adult dodgeball tournament on Saturday, April 26. The registration fee is $80 per team. Those interested must register their team and submit rosters by Wednesday, April 23.

Mother-son dance
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Mother-Son Dance on Friday, May 9 from 7-9 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness Center gym. Admission is $5 per couple. Photos by Duane will be available for a fee. Refreshments and music will be provided.
Youth track and field
The Hershey Track and Field program introduces youths to the fundamentals of running, throwing and jumping. There are still openings in the 11-14 age group. Age is determined as of Dec. 31, 2014. The fee is $17 which includes a T-shirt. Pre-registration is required.
Summer booklets
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of putting together its summer program booklets.
Any area clubs, organizations and non-profit groups that wish to provide a flyer for insert into the program booklet need to have 1,500 copies of their flyer to the recreation center by
May 2.
