Olivia is a light gray silky long-hair spayed female with a shy but loving personality living at Halfway Home Pet Rescue. She is about 8 months old and has all of her medical work completed. Volunteers agree that Olivia is loving and gentle, she is also very shy and will need to feel safe with her new family. “A quiet home with an older family is preferred as noises can spook her,” said HHPR President Norma Milton. “She loves soft talk and will soon melt into someone’s loving arms; Olivia basically needs to learn to trust that human hands do not always hurt.”  She would do well in a home with no other pets.

fs-norma-dcx-ar-16The downtown HHPR store, Second Chance, is now open on Monday as well as Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also starting on Thursday, May 15, the thrift store will be open on Thursday afternoon from 1 to 5 p.m.  Halfway Home Pet Rescue, and the Second Chance store, is a 501c3 non-profit organization and all donations of items or funding are income tax deductible. “Please remember to ask for an estimated value receipt when you donate items for resale,” Milton reminded. All profits from the store benefit the cats’ medical care. Individuals interested in volunteering at Second Chance for a day each week, or a three-hour shift, are encouraged to pick up an application at the store on Saturday. FMI: Call 999-1075.
