NEW SWEDEN – Gwendolyn (Gwen) Hall, 90, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Wayne, WV. She was born in New Sweden on October 10, 1923, the daughter of Walter H. and Ellen Larson Johnson.
She married the love of her life, Ewing Hall on April 6, 1944. They lived in Meally, KY, until his death, then she moved to Wayne, WV, to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the Meally Church of Christ.
Ewing predeceased her in 2010. She was also predeceased by her parents; two brothers; one nephew; her father-in-law; mother-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Hall and daughter-in-law, Lois; one grandson, David and wife, Missy; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marilyn Pearson, and Norma and Eugene Alward of New Sweden; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Naegeli of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held in the Chapel of the Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville, KY. Burial was in the Hall Family Cemetery in Meally, KY.
