CARIBOU – Gregory P. Wark, 62, passed away June 20, 2014, at Caribou and is now resting in peace following a long courageous battle with MSA. He was born in Caribou on March 23, 1952, the son of George and Lucille (d’Entremont) Wark.
Greg was a graduate of Caribou High School and Northern Maine Technical College. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and on February 18, 1977, he married Derna Brown. Greg was a self-employed farmer and potato grower in Woodland for many years, prior to moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he did custom home construction.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Derna, and his mother Lou, both of Caribou, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Kiley and Nathan Sheppard of Saco and Amy and Colin Leed of Colorado Springs, CO; six brothers, Gordon Wark of Fairfield, Gene Wark of Asheville, N.C., Gary Wark of Portland, Gerard Wark of Westbrook, Graham Wark of Toronto, and George James Wark of Maize, KS; three sisters, Gale Stewart of Safford, AZ, Gretta Wark of Bath and Georgia Wark of Portland; five grandchildren, Na’Kiyah, and Amaya Sheppard and Michael, Jonathan and Lucille Leed; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Wark was predeceased by his father, George.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery. Following the service, all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Parish Center.
