13-15 baseball playoffs begin

The Northern Baseball League for 13-15 year-olds has been playing since late-June and the playoffs are now under way.
The playoffs began Tuesday in Caribou, with the No. 5 seed Grand Falls taking on the No. 1 seed County Federal Credit Union at 5 p.m. (No. 4 St. Agatha had dropped out of the tournament due to a lack of players) and No. 3 Woodland squaring off against the No. 2 AFSL at 7 p.m. The winners of those contests meet tonight but regardless of the outcome, both squads will play in the Northern Maine Community Recreation Association semifinals Thursday at 1:15 p.m. in Presque Isle.
The teams prevailing in those games will then play in the championship Monday, Aug. 4, also in Presque Isle beginning at 6 p.m.
The final regular season standings are as follows: County Federal Credit Union (11-1), AFSL (9-3),  Woodland (5-5), St. Agatha (3-9) and Grand Falls (2-10).
