Acadian Heritage Air show takes to the skies this weekend

    FRENCHVILLE — The Acadian Heritage Air Show is this weekend, Aug. 9-10, at the Northern Aroostook Regional Airport, 74 Airport Ave. Featured at the show will be the B-17 “Sentimental Journey.”

    Gates open at 9 a.m. each day, with a number of activities scheduled. Additional performers include: the Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team, Scott Yoak in the “Quick Silver” P-51 Mustang, Rob Holland Ultimate Air Shows, Hotwire Harry — Tiger Air Shows, Dan Fortin — Yak Attack Air Shows CJ-6, and Iron Eagles Aerobatic Team and Bill Gordon — Solo Stearman.
    Events start at 10 a.m., with air shows starting at noon.   
    “Bring a chair or join the Bomber or Fighter clubs for personalized service and tent seating,” said Anne Ward, event spokesperson.
    In addition to demonstrations, there will be static displays, food, music and other entertainment. Tickets can be ordered online at www.aroostookaeroclub.org/airshow or are $30 at the gate. No coolers, large bags or alcohol are allowed.
