Murphy honored at Loring

LIMESTONE, Maine — Officials with the Loring Job Corps Center recently announced that Rhonda Murphy has been recognized at the center with the Employee of the Year Award.
Murphy, who is from Fort Fairfield, has served as a residential adviser with the LJCC since October of 2012 .
Business and Community Liasion Roger Felix said that since Murphy’s arrival at the educational center, she has demonstrated her desire to lead her students toward success at every opportunity.
“Rhonda has used her ability to counsel and mentor youth to give them the tools needed to succeed in any work environment,” Felix said, adding that she can often be found developing and training her students to become more productive and well rounded members of their community.
“It is clear to all who meet Rhonda that she is committed to her students and loves her job and the satisfaction she gets when the students go on and become successful,” he said.
Murphy is modest about her accomplishments at the center; when asked what attributes to her success at the LJCC, she explained that she’s lived in the areas that her students come from and she understand their struggles.
“You could say I am a Country girl at heart with big city knowledge,” she said, crediting her students for her recent award to her students because they have motivated her in the same way she has motivated them as one team with one mission. Rhonda thanks her husband and family for their ongoing support and also wishes to thank the management of the center for allowing her the opportunity and support to be part of the Loring team.
“The employee of the year award for this year is even more symbolic since it is also the 50th anniversary of Job Corps and Loring is pleased to have chosen a great person such as Rhonda for this award,” said Felix.
