Do you like meeting new people and helping others? Do you have three hours a week to spare? Consider volunteering at Cary Medical Center.
Interested persons are invited to attend a Volunteer Recruitment Social on Friday, Sept. 19 from 2 to 3:30 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.
“Our generous volunteers play a valuable role by helping us maintain a patient-centered culture that Cary Medical Center is so very proud of,” said Nancy Bergin, volunteer services coordinator.
Cary’s volunteers give their time and efforts in a variety of areas including mail delivery, gift shop sales, customer service, blood drives, clerical assistance, bulk mailings, special projects and knitting/crocheting.
There are endless benefits to volunteering, including increased socialization and self-confidence, learning new job skills, and gaining career experience,” Bergin added.
Volunteers are required to be at least 14 years of age and/or have completed the eighth grade.
To learn more about the benefits of helping others and how to join the Cary family, please call Bergin at 498-1380 or by email at nbergin@carymed.org.
